Dog Run 142 Information Session

Ready for Zoom presentation #2?

Hello DR142 family, friends and supporters, city dog run allies and fellow dog owners. A few days ago we teased the next topic in our 2026 winter series of Zoom informational presentations; to bring us together over topics of interest and benefit. In just over three weeks, we hope you will again join us.

On Wednesday, March 11th, 6:30-7:30PM, DR142 joined with cosponsor @dogrun155_pologrounds, in welcoming @nypd Officer Sarah Frankel to discuss various topics covering when dog attacks occur and what we should know. We’ll discuss what the law covers, what it doesn’t; what steps you may take to try and hold dog owners responsible for the behavior of their dogs. Did you know you can file a dangerous dog report? You can! Learn how.

Surely you’ve heard of some dog attacking another dog. Heard it from a friend or neighbor, read it online or in the news. DR142 knows of an UWS neighbor whose dog Penny was brutally attacked and blessedly survived significant injuries. Do you know what to do if it were you and your dog? Let’s make sure we all know what to do.

Ofc. Sarah Frankel, with NYPD’s Crime Prevention Division & 24th Precinct, was among a pioneering group of police officers trained in dangerous dog training. She has become one of a couple remaining go-to officers to assist dog owners when some of the scariest situations occur.

We’re starting this notification push with plenty of lead time. With the generous advocacy of @riversideparknyc, their enterprise @zoom account will permit us to host everyone interested in attending. Please start now! Please help us get this word out! In the next few weeks, we will highlight news stories where Ofc. Frankel has been of great aid and service. Of all the topics DR142 wants to bring to you our friends, this one is among tops of the list.
