Canines in Six Musical Portraits
The sound of a dog’s bark is instantly recognizable. In English, it’s “woof woof.” In Spanish, it’s “guau-guau.” In Japanese, it’s “wan-wan.” But what is it in music, specifically through the piano? For that, we turn to Alec Hall’s A Dog Is a Machine for Loving.
Join us for this unique live experience of Alec Hall’s A Dog is a Machine for Loving, performed by Ning Yu and Vinson Cunningham. This piece is built from a decade of the composer listening to the dogs in his life. Dogs are welcome to join in the listening and stick around afterwards for a reception and meet and greet.
