The New York City Pawetry Festival
A poetry and puppies fundraiser for the NYC Poetry Festival featuring adoptable dogs, puptail bar, treats and more!
The Poetry Society of New York is thrilled to present the Second Annual NYC Pawetry Festival — a poetry & puppies fundraiser featuring adoptable dogs from Social Tees Animal Rescue!
Join us at Sixpoint Brewery Taproom at Brookfield Place in Manhattan for an afternoon of poetry, pups, beer, and community — all in support of two incredible causes: dog rescue efforts across New York City and The Poetry Society of New York’s beloved New York City Poetry Festival, the largest free poetry festival in the country!
Produced by PSNY in partnership with Social Tees Animal Rescue and Sixpoint Brewery, this tail-wagging literary celebration brings together poetry lovers, dog lovers, and anyone looking to support a joyful community event with heart.
Here’s what’s in store:
● Poets reading dog-themed poems with a special featured reading from award-winning poet, Lynne Schmidt!
● Live “PAWnet” writing from PSNY’s beloved Typewriter Poets
● A Puptail Bar featuring treats and goodies from Brutus Broth, Spot and Tango, and Dawg Butter by Paw Power Nutrition
● Adoptable dogs from Social Tees Animal Rescue searching for their forever homes (12–3 PM)
● Dog toys from Multipet International and Gone to the Dogs Co.
● Sixpoint’s full lineup of beers flowing all afternoon
● Raffles, activities, and plenty of opportunities to support a great cause
All proceeds benefit the 2026 New York City Poetry Festival, which brings thousands of poets and poetry lovers to Governors Island each year for a weekend of free, accessible, and joy-filled programming.
